The Night

The upstairs restaurant area looks gorgeous. Warm, festive and shimmering in candle light. George Michael is in the background - last Christmas he gave you his heart and the very next day you threw it away.

You are shown to your table and are greeted by crackers with silly hats and even sillier jokes.

​

We get your drinks sorted and then serve your canape board. A smoked salmon blini with creme frais & dill. Spoons with ham hock, piccalilli gel and pea shoots. A little arancini with roasted red pepper dipping sauce.

​

This is followed when you're ready with a sharing board. warm bread, local butter, a warm molten Camembert with Christmas spiced chutney. Olives & hummus.

​

Your main course then arrives - which you have chosen when you order. Either

Breast of British turkey with a sage, onion and apricot stuffing and trimmings.

​

Oven baked loin of cod with pickled fennel, baby capers and salse verde.

​

Classic beef bourgignonne slow cooked in red wine served in a pastry box with baby mushrooms, baby onions and pancetta lardons.

​

Or a chestnut, root vegetable and pumpkin seed roast with a spiced orange and cranberry sauce.

​

All main courses served with honey roast carrots and parsnips, sea salt roast potatoes and mixed green vegetables.

 

When you're ready pudding arrives in a trio of shot glasses.

Vanilla panna cotta with dried raspberries. Rich chocolate mousse with salted caramel baubels.

A zingy lemon posset with meringue kisses, lemon curd and shortbread.
